Help on technical issues at AOL Games
Games Do Not Work
Unable to Play Games
For most game errors there are a few steps available that should alleviate the problem. If you are having trouble you should:
- Clear your AOL browser cache
- Clear your Internet Explorer Temporary Internet files
- Clear your Java Cache
After you've performed all these steps, close all your browser windows. Once closed, restart them and go back to the game you were trying to play.
Seeing A Red X
Some users could see a Red X where a game should be running. This happens when a small piece of software provided by the game publisher, called an Active X control, is not installed. When you see a Red X, try to do the following to get the game running:
- 1. Close your browser (and the AOL client)
- 2. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:WINDOWSDownloaded Program Files
- 3. Find all non-Java labeled files
- 4. Right-click it and select "Remove" for each
- 5. Open Internet Explorer or AOL and try to run the game again
Pop-Up Blockers
Some of our games open as a pop up. If you click on a game and it doesn't appear it may be due to a pop-up blocker. You can make sure that AOL games are never blocked by adding AOL.com, AOL.co.uk and Games.com to your pop-up blockers safe list:
